Tuesday March 17, 2015 – A Tender Evaluation Committee is now reviewing technical bid documents for Port Moresby Sewerage System Upgrade Project (POMSSUP).
The tender process is moving forward towards selecting a potential contractor for the construction of a sewer network, pumping stations and a sewage treatment plant at Joyce Bay, Kilakila.
Formal opening of the sealed tender documents for the project eventuated at the Central Supply & Tenders Board (CSTB) Training Room in Waigani on Tuesday 24th February 2015 in the presence of all tender representatives.
“The public tender opening of the bidding documents is significant in the contract procurement process for the POMSSUP. The project is moving forward and it is IPBC’s commitment to ensure that this key impact project is delivered within the given time frame for Port Moresby coastal residents,” said IPBC Managing Director, Wasantha Kumarasiri.
IPBC Acting General Manager, Projects Mr Larry Hore commended CSTB for facilitating the bidding process, IPBC as the implementing agency and other key stakeholders, JICA, the PNG government, Eda Ranu and NJS Consultants for doing all they can to ensure the tender process for POMSSUP goes smoothly.
“We expect construction phase to kick off this year after the successful contractor is awarded the contract following the due approval process. The opening and evaluation of the tender documents is another milestone achievement for the project,” he said.
POMSSUP is a Japanese government – JICA funded project which will be operated after completion by EDA Ranu.
